Susana Valenzuela (Mexico) and Mario Zelaya (Chile)
incorporate the millennial art of embossing (repoussé/French or
repujado/Spanish), born and developed in Greek, Egyptian, Aztec
Teotihuacan and Middle Eastern culture, and apply it to today's
world thru images and traditional icons of different cultures in the
world.
The metal embossing of Susana and Mario consists in achieving high
and low relieves on tin, copper, aluminum, and brass to obtain the
three dimensions of the picture. A patina or other medium can be
applied to the embossed designs to duplicate the look of age, giving
the pieces an old world look
In addition, Arts Valenzuela offers music lessons and distribute
ironwood sculptures made by the Seris tribe and by artisans of the
Coast Region of Sonora, Mexico.
Arts Valenzuela is a proud member of East Valley Art Guild, Calaca
Cultural Center, Gilbert Visual Arts League, Chandler Arts &
Crafts League, and Downtown Phoenix Public Market, . You can find
Arts Valenzuela at any place, event, festival or exhibition of these
organizations. Also,
you can visit our websites for more information and for our artwork.
